If you’ve been wanting to grow with confidence or learn how to divide your own tubers, we have three beautiful hands‑on workshops coming up:

Dahlia Tuber Dig & Divide + Seed Growing Workshop
• Saturday 15 August from 10-2pm
• Sunday 20 September 10-2pm

Growing Dahlias Workshop
• Sunday 30 August 1-4pm

Each session is small, practical, and designed to give you real skills, gentle guidance, and plenty of time to ask questions.
Morning or afternoon tea and lunch also provided. Please refer to workshop info.

We are now at Heartwood Farm for four more days of planning; mapping experiences, collaborations, dreaming up workshops, harvesting and Devonshire Tea experiences and shaping the moments we’ll share with our community next season.

Liz and I have arrived at the Gaia Retreat and Spa

Liz and I have arrived at the Gaia Retreat and Spa, a gentle pause at the end of the season and the perfect place to breathe, reset, and dream.
We’re already sketching ideas for the 26/27 season and can’t wait to share the special moments we’re planning for the farm.
Wishing you all a safe, happy few months until the gates open again.

Today we wrapped up our season with a tender celebration.
Three sisters came together to honour their mum’s 86th birthday. They contacted us weeks ago, knowing blooms would be fading, but simply grateful for any moment we could create for them.

This morning the gardens surprised us with generosity: seven buckets of roses, natives, dahlias, zinnias and cosmos.
A little nudge from their mother, perhaps.

They left laughing, connected, and held by the beauty around them.
At its heart, that’s what The Dahlia Patch is here for. The flowers might not last long but their memories will.

What a way to wrap the season.
Liz and I hosted our final Devonshire Tea this morning, with 15 lovely people gathered over warm scones and beautiful speciality teas from the Tea Shop in Bowral.

The day began misty and wet and then right on cue the clouds lifted, the sun broke through, and blue skies arrived just in time for our Devonshire tea. As we finished cleaning up, the mist rolled back in as if to say, that’s a wrap.

What a session it has been.
We’ve so enjoyed meeting every single person who has wandered through our gates. These mornings have become something truly special, and we’re grateful for the way you’ve embraced them.

Next week Liz and I are heading to The Gaia Health Retreat for a blend of deep planning and much needed rest. We’ll be dreaming, refining, and shaping what the next season will hold.

A full calendar for the new season will be online later in the year, and we can’t wait to welcome you back when the dahlias return.

Yesterday we wrapped up our final workshop of the season, the Growing Dahlias Workshop, and what a beautiful note to end on.
Another sold out group, full of fabulous people eager to learn, ask, share, and soak up the magic of these flowers we all adore. There’s something special about watching confidence bloom alongside the dahlias themselves.

It felt like the perfect finale to a season filled with learning, laughter and great food - let’s not forget to mention the amazing afternoon tea organised by Liz. What a great afternoon it was.

We have just one more Devonshire Tea this coming Tuesday morning, and then that’s a wrap for the year. The dahlias are beginning to fade, but the farm still holds so much beauty and we’re looking forward to welcoming our last visitors before we tuck the Patch in for winter.

Thank you to everyone who has joined us this season. Your presence, your curiosity, and your kindness make this place what it is.
