As I move through my 50s, I’ve come to appreciate how important it is to nourish both our bodies and minds. Spending time at the Flower Farm among the Dahlias has taught me that, like these gorgeous flowers, we too can thrive and blossom, regardless of age.

I invite you to join me on Saturdays throughout January to April for a morning filled with laughter and connection in nature. This isn’t just about beautiful blooms; it’s about creating a nurturing space.

Harvesting dahlias and engaging in gentle physical activity is a wonderful way to keep our bodies moving. Activities like bending, reaching, and carrying flowers help maintain strength and flexibility, which are so vital as we age.

Nature has an incredible way of soothing our minds. Being surrounded by these vibrant flowers reduces stress and anxiety, allowing us to reconnect with ourselves and find inner peace. The simple act of picking flowers is meditative and brings clarity to our thoughts.

The farm is also a great place to meet other inspiring people. Sharing stories and experiences not only builds friendships but also enriches our lives, reminding us that we are never alone.

The flower farm had a visitor today. Whilst talking with my husband we kept hearing ‘Hello mate’ and then laughing. Initially I thought that it was a neighbour playing a trick on us, but then we found this little fellow.
